Birds, Panthers, Koalas, Oh My!

If there is one thing people know about us when they are around us for more than an hour… (besides that we love and elevate Christ and scripture) it’s that, we are goofy as all get out.

For example, we pretend to be animals sometimes.  Hence the name of the title.

We have animal sounds, motions, its hysterical when I try and leave the house and Micah literally jumps on me, then trys to hang on with all 4 limbs with only the back of the couch holding us up, all the while, saying “K waaahhhh laaaa”.

When we were dating, our “first” animal was a chickadee.  I dont even remember why… but we were known to “caw” at eachother and flap our “wings” (aka arms).

On our honeymoon, whenever we would drive around trying to find a camping spot (before we left on our adventures for the day I liked to know where “home” was going to be that night) Micah would always say, “I’ll find you a nest baby, we’ll get you the perfect place to make a nest”.

Now as goofy as we are, we are both very deep.  We think hard about all matters.  We are much more realists, than we are emotional.

One emotion, though that we lay out openly is our adoration for eachother.

So today when I read this, I just smiled.  A perfect mixture of seriousness with a splash of our inside goofiness.

Husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies.  He who loves his own wife loves himself, for no one ever hated his own flesh but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church. Ephesians 5:29

 The word translated cherishes literally means “to warm with body heat” – it is used to describe a bird sitting on her nest.  Husbands, you are to provide a secure, warm, safe haven for your wife.  John MacArthur

Thank you for cherishing me so well Micah!

{maybe someday Ill get some of these animal behaviors on tape}
