Wising Up

Lately at work I’ve been listening to the “Wise Up” series by Beth Moore.  She teaches from the book of Proverbs in this series.  I had no idea that you could listen for free.  They only cost money if you want to download them.  Find the archives here.

I’m learning a lot, not to mention it is straight refreshing to listen to her while at work.  There are so many topics (wife, friend, motherhood, money, words, work, etc) particularly, the wising up at work has been very beneficial.  If you work in an office you may find the following text helpful.  For every day of the work week she gives a word to focus on with corresponding verses.

  • Monday- Attitude

Genesis 2:15

“The LORD God took the man, and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”

  • Tuesday-Energy

Psalm 90:17

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands, yes, establish the work of our hands.”

  • Wednesday-Ethics

Proverbs 3:3-4

“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.  So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man”.

  • Thursday-Advice

Proverbs 15:22

“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”

  • Friday- Influence

Proverbs 16:21-22

“The wise of heart is discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.  Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the instruction of fools is folly.  The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.”

I’ve got the words tacked to my board, and the verses written in my spiral truth cards binder.

Ready and excited for next week! (not gonna lie, this weekend too hehe)
